Sumve District Designated Hospital (DDH)

Is located in the northwest corner of Kwimba District in the Mwanza region, situated in Ngulla Division. It operates under the auspices of the Archdiocese of Mwanza. The service area has a total population of about 16,436 people - National census 2012, primarily from six villages in Sumve Ward and two villages in Mantare Ward. The hospital catchment area has a population of approximately 90,914 people - National census 2012, mainly from Ngulla Division but including individuals from the neighbouring districts of Misungwi, Maswa, and Magu.

The hospital consists of an Outpatient department and a general Inpatient department of six wards with 265 registered beds. The six wards include three gender-segregated wards (Male, Female, and Maternity wards) and three general wards for TB patients, children in isolation, and special facilities for premature babies. The hospital facilities includes a pharmacy, laboratory, blood bank, major and minor surgical theatres, and x-ray and ultrasound services in their respective blocks.
